Little Red Robin

This spring/summer we were very lucky to have robins nesting in our garden. The robin is my favourite bird and I very much believe in their presence as a returning lost loved-one.

I sat in the garden silently watching them for long periods of time with my camera and managed to take a few really good shots.

It is incredible how hard the parents work to feed their chicks. The pair ended up looking ragged and not the typical beautifully groomed bird you see on Christmas cards. They nonetheless remained enchanting to watch.

I, unfortunately, did not see their chicks fledge, but believe I saw one in the area of their nest one month later. It was nice to think that this was a sign that the chicks beat the odds and were thriving in the wild.
